Myers Law is Hiring for Three Positions – Intake Specialist; Paralegal; Law Clerk

With the growth and changes that we have experience here at Myers Law, Myers Law is looking to fill three positions.  Erika, our current paralegal and intake specialist, who has been amazing, will be leaving the area.

These  positions are critical to our mission of making big change for Ohio consumers–on individual cases, class actions, and through new consumer protections.  Candidates must be interested in helping every-day consumers fight against bad businesses.  For a description of the work that we do, and clients that we assist, check out our website.

Please note:  if you applied for a position with Myers Law through Indeed.com in the past month, it was not a position with us, nor was it our posting.  It was a scam posting from someone else trying to take money from job seekers.  You should NEVER pay money to someone as part of any job seeking or application process, and you should always look up the company and its staff first to see if the people hiring even work at the company.

These positions are for:

  1. Paralegal / Law Clerk (part-time or full-time);
  2. Intake Specialist (part-time or full-time);

These positions all require task-oriented team members who have excellent organizational skills, are detail oriented, are able to solve problems and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and experience scheduling with Clio and/or Google Calendar.  Email and technological proficiency (laptop use, Microsoft Office software use, webmail, social media use, and ability to learn new programs, systems, and other software) is a must.  Reliable transportation is also a must.

If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please submit an application via email to Info@MyersLawLLC.com.  The Subject line should be the title of the position for which you are applying (Paralegal, Intake Specialist, or Law Clerk), the email should contain no more than two paragraphs about why you are interested in working at Myers Law, must state whether you are applying for a part-time or full-time role, and you should include the following:

  1. For all positions – attach your Resume;
  2. If applying for the Law Clerk position – attach a writing sample of a dispositive motion that you drafted (some assistance from others on editing is permissible), preferably motion to dismiss or summary judgment motion (without exhibits);
  3. If applying for the Paralegal / Law Clerk position – attach a brief list of the courses you have taken in law or paralegal school, if any;
  4. For all positions – OPTIONAL – if you write a blog that you are willing to share, include a link to that blog in your email.

If you are interested in applying for more than one position, please send separate emails for each.

Either a current student in a law school or paralegal studies program, or a graduate of a  law school or paralegal studies program.

We are looking for a paralegal/law clerk who can assist the office with reviewing client documents, communicating with current clients about scheduling and other litigation-related events and needs from them, and the initial investigation, complaint drafting, and discovery process.  This is an hourly position that reports to Dan Myers and the Office Manager, with hourly pay beginning at $12 per hour or higher, based on experience and ability.  Part-time paralegals/law clerks would be expected to work 20 or more hours per week.  A full-time paralegal/law clerk would be expected to work 38-40 hours per week.  Those hired would work mostly on-site at our office.  Some light, local travel could be involved to various building departments, courts, and occasional business networking events.

There are other benefits, such as a Simple-IRA with matching after payment and length of employment criteria are met, and reimbursement of certain profession-related expenses.

This position will involve a large amount of client interaction and coordination, as well as some writing and preparation of discovery and pre-suit related communications and letters, as well as subpoenas and other discovery-related communications.  Our office uses Clio for practice management, and the candidate should have experience using Clio efficiently.  Procedures are in place for certain tasks, and candidates should be able to follow and perform those tasks according to the procedures in place.  If no procedure is in place, candidates should be able to assist in creating a written procedure for different tasks.  Duties may vary from time to time.

For law clerks, there is no guarantee, but there is a possibility, of future employment as an associate attorney with Myers Law, LLC upon successful work as a law clerk, and passage of the bar exam, based on the needs of the practice at the time.  We do plan to hire another associate attorney in the next 6-12 months.

If you are interested in applying for this position, please email Alise at Info@MyersLawLLC.com as outlined at the top of this page.

Minimum 1 year experience in customer service position.  Preferably performing client intake calls in the legal field.

We receive a large number of incoming new / potential client emails and phone calls every week.  We are in need of someone with customer service experience, preferably a background in the law or legal services / intake for a law firm, to handle the initial calls from our clients to make sure we are getting the information we need from them so we can quickly determine whether we can assist them, or need to get them in touch with another attorney.

Candidates must friendly and helpful.  In addition to using a laptop, candidates are expected to know how to use an iPhone.  Specialists must be able to quickly and efficiently obtain information from clients and third parties (occasionally perform public records requests), fill out our intake questionnaires, request specific documents from potential clients, follow up with potential clients about additional information that is needed, and handle all front-end communication, filing, organization requirements before an attorney meets with the potential new client.  Additional duties may be required based on the needs of Myers Law at the time.

This position can involve speaking with people in very stressful situations.  Many times, potential clients are having the worst experience of their lives before they call us.  Therefore, a positive, understanding, and efficient attitude is necessary.

This position may be full-time or part-time depending on need.  Pay is hourly beginning at $10 per hour or higher increasing based on experience and ability.  Experience with intake procedures and use of Clio is a plus.

If you are interested in applying for this position, please email Alise at Info@MyersLawLLC.com as outlined at the top of this page.
